How do I know if my local water authority is adding too much Fluoride?
Water authorities have a number of safeguards in place to ensure that Fluoride is added in the correct amounts, first is the selection of the dosing equipment, the dosing equipment can only dose a very small amount, even if the equipment was turned up to full speed it cannot put too much Fluoride into the water, there are other safeguards put in place both mechanical and electrical to ensure that Fluoride concentration is correct, water samples are taken every day and tested for Fluoride concentration, if Fluoride concentrations are too high it is reportable, so you would hear about it. Water authorities Maintain a Flouride concentration of around 1mg per litre of water, to put that into perspective you would need to drink 1000 litres of water to consume 1gram of fluoride.
